Healthy Vegan Shamrock Shake
It’s March and almost St. Patrick’s Day, so that means it is the time for Shamrock Shakes! This healthy version of a Shamrock Shake has only natural sugar and is made with all unprocessed ingredients!
What are Shamrock Shakes?
Shamrock Shakes are green seasonal mint flavored milkshakes, which are usually ultra-processed and contain tons of sugar. If you still want to enjoy a Shamrock Shake in March (or any time of the year!) that is made with beneficial ingredients that will give your body energy opposed to a sugar crash, follow the recipe below!
What You Will Need
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1.5 cups of soy milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 3 pitted dates or 3 TB of date syrup
- 5-7 mint leaves and/or 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional:
2 TB cacao nibs to mix in
A little bit of ice to make a thicker texture
Topping:
- Coconut Whip cream
- Cacao nibs
- Mint sprig
Step 1: Blend
Add in the frozen banana, dates (or date syrup), spinach, mint leaves, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, cacao nibs (optional), and soy milk.
**Make sure you have a high speed blender if you are using dates, so they blend completely.
Blend all these ingredients together until you achieve a creamy texture. If you want a thicker consistency, add in additional ice.
Step 2: Topping
Once you pour your shake into the cup of your choice, add coconut whipped cream, cacao nibs, and mint sprig.
And that’s it! You finished your healthy Shamrock Shake and it is time to enjoy it!
